About Neil Sinclair

Description of Picture. In 2008, Neil together with his daughter Emma founded and listed on The Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange, Mission Capital plc. (Mission Capital plc is now known as Quindell Portfolio plc with a market capitalization in excess of £500mm)

Neil Sinclair qualified in 1964 as a Chartered Surveyor and became a partner at the age of 21 of a leading West End of London firm in the same year. He has, since that time, been advising commercial property owners, mortgagees, occupiers and developers on all aspects of their real estate holdings.

He founded his original firm, Sinclair Goldsmith in the West End of London, in May 1970, opened a City of London office in 1976 and was one of the first to open a New York office in 1981 after exchange controls were lifted.

As a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors he was precluded from seeking outside shareholders but in 1986 this restriction was lifted and Sinclair Goldsmith was one of the first commercial firms to list their shares on the Official List of the London Stock Exchange in 1987.

Neil Sinclair merged his firm with Conrad Ritblat in 1993 and became Executive Deputy Chairman of Conrad Ritblat Sinclair Goldsmith now known as Colliers International. In late 1994 he resigned from the company and started advising clients on their real estate holdings and initiating joint ventures with external funders. Early projects included 37 Duke Street in Central London opposite Selfridges with Skandia Life.

In 1999 he became Chairman of Baker Lorenz a well known firm of West End of London surveyors with a view to their making a strategic corporate move. Neil initiated their acquisition by Hercules Property Services plc in 2001 by way of a cash and shares transaction.

In 2002 Neil became the sole UK real estate adviser to Isle of Capri Casinos Inc a leading NASDAQ quoted US hotel and gaming operator. Neil on behalf of Isle was involved with them in all aspects of gambling deregulation leading up to the Gambling Bill 2005. Isle wished to become involved in the operation of so called super casinos but when this was abandoned by HM Government, Isle of Capri ultimately sold their UK interests. However licences are due to be granted for small and large casinos and Neil is well placed to advise on this aspect.

In 2003 he became a non-executive director of Tops Estates Plc listed on the London Stock Exchange who specialised in the acquisition and active management of shopping centres. In June 2005, the company was acquired by Land Securities Plc for over £250m.

In 2005, Neil together with his daughter Emma founded and listed on AIM Mission Capital plc. The strategy was to acquire property related and property backed businesses. In 2006 Karspace Management Ltd (KML) a car parking company was acquired for £2.6m

In 2006 after having been involved for over three decades, Neil became Honorary Property Adviser to The Variety Club Children's Charity. In 1992 Neil founded the PROPS a prestigious annual property charity awards event that has honoured Sir Donald Gordon, John Ritblat, Trevor Hemmings, Sir William Mcalpine, Nick Leslau, Sir Sol Kerzner and Tony Pidgley to name but a few. To date the PROPS has raised over £6m to include the provision of 1700 electric wheelchairs. Neil is a Trustee of the Charity and is a director of International Heart of Variety Inc based in Los Angeles.

In March 2010 Neil was appointed as a consultant to ARCADIS a substantial Dutch quoted construction management group to assist their business development group.

In July 2010 and together with two close business associates, Neil acquired 29.9% of Palace Capital plc ( formerly Leo Insurance Services plc ) quoted on AIM of the London Stock Exchange. He is seeking acquisitions of real estate backed businesses such as car parks, student housing and outdoor advertising, real estate related businesses, private property companies, real estate portfolios and property services businesses.
